The summary for low-energy days (TL;DR)
- Immunoroots is the English-language sister project of Immunoloco, a German platform for people with complex immune and chronic conditions.
- We write for humans first: carefully researched, with real sources you can check.
- You will hear from us on a regular basis, but only when we have something worth your time.
What we write about
Our articles give you insights into an immune system that overreacts or responds in confusing ways. You can find topics like these:
- Histamine intolerance: the body has trouble breaking down histamine from food and drink.
- Mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS): mast cells release their chemical messengers too easily, which can cause symptoms in several parts of the body.
- Salicylate and NSAID intolerance (Samter's triad): reactions to certain food components and pain medications.
- POTS and dysautonomia: the autonomic nervous system does not regulate well.
- ME/CFS: a complex chronic illness with severe fatigue that often worsens after exertion.
- Endometriosis and IC/BPS: chronic pain conditions of the pelvis and the bladder.
Why we launched Immunoroots
Mixing two languages in one place makes it difficult for everyone to find what they are looking for. With two separate sites, the experience for each community will be cleaner and more organized.
Immunoroots is more or less the English version of Immunoloco (in German), built with the same high standards and the same heart.
Who is behind it
Lisa Dostmann brings the deep scientific groundwork and years of lived experience with complex immune conditions. I, Daniela Dwersteg, am a certified holistic nutrition and health coach based on a small finca on the Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica. Together we write for people who want to understand what is going on in their bodies, without an overload of information and without false promises.
What you will receive
- Careful research: we work through original studies instead of just repeating headlines.
- Honest uncertainty: where science is unclear or controversial, we say so.
- Practical takeaways: ideas you can bring to your next appointment.
- No miracle cures: we are not looking for a silver bullet. We provide evidence-based pieces, so you can put together your own picture.
How we use AI
AI is everywhere, and we use it too. It helps us research and understand. The content, the review, and the final wording are ours. It is important to keep in mind that AI can make mistakes, so checking matters.
AI tools can now produce articles with citations that look genuine but do not exist. Before you trust a study, click the DOI link, then search the title on PubMed. If it leads nowhere, be careful.
This is not about who is clever enough to use AI. It is about protecting your time and your credibility when you talk to your doctors.
Stay in touch
We would love to hear what you want to read about. Just leave us a comment.
If you know someone who could use clear, well-sourced information about the immune system, feel free to pass this on. Whether it is a fellow patient, a practitioner or a family member, we would love for them to find us.
Thank you for being here and welcome to Immunoroots.
